Hypocrisy, Ignorance & Credulity
A day ago i read this statement on a yahoo report on megchurches and their influence upon American politics, "I trust his opinion because of his beliefs."
The statement was made by a middle aged lady attending a megachurch, the person whom she happens to trust happens to be non other than Mr. Bush. So basically she agrees with Mr. Bush on every single topic mainly beacuse they both share a similar outlook on their religious lives. Whoever that created Mr. Bush's political manifesto is a political genius. Mr. Bush is the sort of person who appeals to the average megachurch member. And in an America where religious fundamentalism happens to be the rising force in politics this transalates to immense political appeal. Any unbiased analyst can see that Mr.Bush is a person who appeals the lowest sector of the population. His cowboy like poseur, his frequent shows of ostentaious steadfastness and belief, everyman personality appeals to the common people. His tax cuts and cutbacks on social spending earn him support among the upper classes. His increases in defence spending and enthuasism for engaging in military conflicts allow him to build up a sort of patriotic support which appeals to people who believe in gung ho dispalys of american superiority. Basically Mr.Bush manages to appeal to a wide demographic audience.He is extremely adept at manipualting peoples basest emotions like greed, blind nationalism and religion.
A group of lawyers in Malaysia have taken up defending the so called assault on Islam. They seem to be highly inscensed by opinions that the Islamic religion should be superseded by the constitution of Malaysia in leagal matters. According to them Islam is God's law and replacing with a man made account is tantamount to blasphemy.
Well they didnt exactly say the blasphemy part i just added that for effect's sake.
For God's sake i thot were living in a country not in a hell like Saudi Arabia.
A lot of these so called defenders of Islam are the most hypocritical people on Earth, they talk bout purity while indulging alcohol fuelled romps, they talk bout virtue while their daughter and sons indulge in some lets just say pretty extreme sexual activity. I dont have a problem with religion as long it keeps its mouth shut.
The problem occurs when they try to force it up ur bloody arse. Everyone is entitled to their opiniond but for petes sake keep it to your bloody self. If u love God so much kill urself and have an advance meeting with him, oh damn my mistake, thats precisely what our wondeful jihadis are doing rihgt now, silly me, I modify that kill urself and dont try to bring anyone else with u, its just very slightly inconvenient for the rest of u know. I really hope that everyone is exposed to some real philosphy and takes the effort to emphatise with another person.
