Lunacy

In the recent batle between creationism (under the guise of Intelligent Design) and evolution, the most distrubing sign is not the incerasing acceptance of ID amongst the general public, but the increasing tendency for scientists (some not all) to behave in a manner that would make the most dogmatic of religious authorities go a bright shade of emerald with envy. In my opinion, the most important aspect intrinsic to science, the one which separates it from religion, is freedom, the freedom to say that there are ni sacred cows, the freedom to doubt. The only field where absolute certainity is possible is in mathematics, physics the most precise of the sciences has uncertainity at its core, its most precious theories have a tendecy to be superseeded. Evolutionary has its flaws but there some very obvious reasons why ID can never be considered a scientific theory, it is able to make no predictions and it appeals to a concious, omnipotent ( well i like this word, its got some philosphy behind it, and no such power cant exist) entity. When u appeal to such an entity it sorta explains everything, for example why does light not need a medium to vacuum to propagate, and the answer would be there is some fraking powerful creature who just makes it that way. Such a mode of thinking will get u nowhere, of cos some of u may say that it gets to heaven, but thats another story. Biologist should instead of trying to stop ID from being introduced in school curriculums ( it should not be taught) should encourage its introduction. The students should be given the freedom to think, telling them that this true will only be counterproductive. If such an attitute had been adopted in physics we would still be believing in the constant of time, the presence of aether and so on.

Oh yeah by the way Mahathir Mohamed, the former prime minister of Malaysia, has seen it fit to establish a war crimes tribunal, for some reason i find this extremely funny and you know what he head it too, my my no prizes for guessing whos going to be indicted, hint think of a B.

Second semester in university, has been a real eye opener. So much work if u want and absolutely none id u dont want to. You can really question everything here, the goverment does gets bashed in discussions, post modernism gets bashed and its so much fun. Programming is a blast, the maths is like usual is a killer, the ppl are so so, u get great ones and u get those for whom a pocket transalator is necessary and those whose idea of fun consists keeping quiet ans staring like a moron. Absolute freedom and absolute responsiblity and thats good. Living away form home is awesome except for the sheer number of domestic chores u are required to fo, (MOMMY!!!), and the only difference between my room, oh wait my cubicle, and a pig sty is that probably a pig sty is cleaner.

Gong Xi Fa Cai ( and remember i want my angpows)
